Luxury lifestyle brand 1 Hotels has expanded its California footprint with the opening of the 1 Hotel San Francisco.
The 200-key property is located along San Francisco’s Embarcadero, in proximity to the city’s SoMa, Chinatown and North Beach districts.
Upon entering the lobby, guests at the 1 Hotel San Francisco are greeted by reclaimed wood flooring made of lumber sourced from barns and industrial buildings, while elevator landings and corridors feature redwood salvaged from the original San Francisco Bay Bridge.
Other nature-inspired design elements found throughout the hotel include greenery, artwork made from salvaged driftwood and terracotta and rustic stone accents, as well as hand-loomed rugs and carpets crafted from plant fibers and recyclable wool.
The property’s indoor-outdoor café and lounge, Terrene, is slated to open later this summer. The eatery will showcase local, organic and sustainably sourced fare, with some ingredients for dishes and cocktails sourced from a rooftop chef’s garden and honey from on-site beehives.
