Margaritaville at Sea has added a second ship to its fleet that will sail four- and five-night cruises from Tampa.
The 2,650-passenger Margaritaville at Seas Islander is the former the Costa Atlantica. Before the pandemic, that ship had been expected to sail for Adora Cruises, a line that serves the Chinese market.
The Islander will begin sailing for the brand on June 14, calling in Key West and Mexico ports Cozumel and Progreso. The ship is larger than Margaritaville’s current ship, the Margaritaville at Sea Paradise, which carries 1,680 passengers.
The Islander will undergo a renovation that includes a redesign all 1,100 staterooms, including the addition of the brand’s signature bedding, pillows and linens.
The ship will feature a giant Margaritaville flip flop encircled by a nautical life ring in the atrium lobby, an atrium bar with three multi-story floating margarita glass chandeliers, a three-story poolside LandShark Bar at Sea, Margaritaville-inspired cornhole and mini-golf course, and a Caribbean Amphibian Splash and Slide area.
The ship’s first sailing will be a four-night itinerary from Tampa with a call in Cozumel and two sea days.
