The new Omni Boston Hotel at the Seaport has partnered with seaplane operator Tailwind Air to offer guests a novel transportation option from New York City.
Hotel guests can travel by seaplane from Manhattan’s New York Skyport on East 23rd Street to Fan Pier at Boston Harbor via Tailwind Air’s shuttle service and receive preferential room rates.
“As our hotel embodies 21st century Boston, we see exciting synergies in our collaboration with Tailwind Air, which is providing a modern approach to traveling between two of America’s best cities,” said Michael Jorgensen, the hotel’s managing director. “With the company’s Boston terminal located only a short distance from our hotel, we see this partnership as an important step in further elevating our guest experience.”
Guests traveling on Tailwind Air must arrive at the airline’s lounge only 10 minutes before scheduled departure, and the flight between Manhattan and Boston takes approximately 75 minutes.
The 1,054-room hotel features 52 suites, 100,000 square feet of event space, seven distinct food and beverage outlets, a spa, a fitness center and an outdoor rooftop pool.
Tailwind Air launched service between Manhattan and Boston in August and runs four daily nonstop flights Monday through Friday and on Sundays. Fares start at $395 one-way.
For passengers who travel between Boston and Manhattan regularly, the airline offers discounted prepaid commuter books of 10, 20, and 50 tickets, which can be shared with colleagues, friends and family.
