JetBlue sale: Fly cross-country for $99 each way or take a short hop for $49 each way

Been thinking about a quick fall getaway? JetBlue is betting on it. The New York-based airline, known for its affordable cross-country fares, is running a sale on all of its Blue Basic fares.

If the beach is calling your name, fares start at $79 (one-way) for vacation spots  including Orlando and Fort Lauderdale in Florida, Los Angeles, Puerto Rico, Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket,  plus other hot-weather destinations like Phoenix and Las Vegas.

For those who prefer the mountains,  there are good deals on flights to Denver, Colorado; Bozeman, Montana; or Burlington, Vermont, with most fares starting at $79 (one-way).

In general, most cross-country fares are set at  $99 one-way, though routes that don’t go quite that far – such as Austin, Texas to Orlando – start at $79. Short-hop itineraries such as New York to Martha’s Vineyard are available  for $49 each way.

Now for the fine print: Though you must book by 11:59 p.m. Thursday night, you can travel between Sept. 22 and Feb. 10, 2021. However, these fares won’t work for your Thanksgiving or Christmas vacations since those dates (Nov. 21-30 and Dec. 19-Jan. 4) are blacked out. The prices quoted above don’t include taxes and fees.

Before booking your fall getaway, be sure to check whether your destination requires a negative COVID-19 test or 14-day quarantine for travelers.
