Pakistani repatriation flights from UAE to depart next month

20 flights will be operated by Pakistan International Airline and seven by UAE carriers

The majority of the repatriation flights from the UAE will be carried out by Pakistan International Airline.

A number of repatriation flights are due to take off from the UAE to Pakistan in the first ten days of next month.

Pakistani officials have announced 27 special flights to take stranded citizens in the UAE back to their home country.

The schedule was revealed by the Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resources Development, with destinations including Lahore, Multan, Faisalabad, Karachi, Peshawar and Islamabad.

Some 20 flights will be operated by Pakistan International Airline (PIA), with the remainder by UAE carriers, although it is not clear as yet, which airport in the UAE the flights will depart from.

Around 63,000 citizens had registered with the General Consulate of Pakistan in Dubai to return home since travel restrictions were placed across the globe.

Over 11,500 Pakistanis in the UAE have already been repatriated since special flights began more than a month ago.
