The welcoming city of Salisbury is the fourth best city in the UK for nightlife – a pint costs £3.50 on average, an average McDonald’s meal is £6.19, and it has a safety score for walking home alone at night of 72.
Durham, the North East city best known for its cathedral and Botanic Gardens, is the fifth best city in the UK for nightlife. The city has 393 pubs per 100,000 people, and the second highest safety score for walking alone at night, 74.
Chester is a city full of historical charm and things to do, but its nightlife also ranks as one of the best in the UK. With 236 pubs per 100,000 people available to choose from, and the average pint of beer costing £3.95, it’s no surprise Chester is number six in the list.
There’s a tie for the seventh best city for nightlife in the UK, with Derby and Bradford both scoring 60.77. Bangor is the eighth best place for a night out in the UK, Perth follows in ninth and Chelmsford rounds off the top 10.
A spokesperson from Luck.com commented on the study: “Truro is the best, cheapest and safest UK city for a night out, according to this new analysis. It is interesting, however, that the data exclusively names cathedral cities in England, Wales and Scotland, rather than larger metropolitan cities.
“This suggests partygoers can enjoy celebrations to the fullest in welcoming environments without paying higher prices that are often found in larger cities, such as London and Manchester.”
