Slide 1 of 13: Travel is still navigating a new normal amid the COVID-19 pandemic but, nonetheless, 2019 was another remarkable year for the industry as evidenced by the 2020 Travel Weekly Power List, which ranks companies with $100 million or more in travel sales in the previous calendar year. Here are the 12 agencies that fared the best.
Slide 2 of 13: AAA exceeded the 60 million-member mark and generated $4.1 billion in sales in 2019. Looking ahead, the privately-held company aims to further improve its travel technology platforms, help grow and develop travel professionals and enhance data management and analytics in expanding sales opportunities.
Slide 3 of 13: Corporate Travel Management (CTM) fell one spot to 11th, reporting $5 billion-plus in sales last year. The Virtuoso member also commemorated a quarter-century in business travel and completed its acquisition of university and corporate travel specialist Corporate Travel Planners in 2019.
Slide 4 of 13: New York City-based Fareportal jumps into the top 10 with $5.34 billion in sales in 2019. A vast majority of the company's sales (93 percent) came from leisure travel.

Last year was a busy one for the company, which raised air and lodging program value and implemented new booking options for card members as well as acquired a pair of digital platforms in LoungeBuddy and Resy.

More than 40 percent of transactions across the group's consumer OTA brands were booked via mobile, with total app transactions jumping more than 40 percent year over year.
