Complaints about overcrowding in top tourist hotspots have gone viral this year, with tourists moaning about chaos at Italy\u2019s Trevi Fountain and one of France\u2019s top destinations.<\/p>\n
But while Paris is Europe\u2019s most visited city, a much smaller destination is the most crowded.<\/p>\n
Despite Monaco receiving just 363,000 tourists in 2019, its tiny size means it’s far more packed than people might expect.<\/p>\n
According to UNWTO statistics, Monaco has nine tourists to every local resident, making it the continent\u2019s most crowded destination.<\/p>\n

More info<\/p>\n Despite many positive reviews, some tourists said they found the attraction too crowded to properly enjoy. \u2018Emily B\u2019 wrote: \u201cYou could hardly move due to the amount of people inside.\u201d<\/p>\n \u2018Jasmin H\u2019 said: \u201cToo busy to be able to enjoy the experience, no monitoring of how many people were entering the aquarium section which meant it was very crowded.\u201d<\/p>\n The annual Monaco Grand Prix, usually held in May or June, is the highlight of the country\u2019s calendar and when it\u2019s at its busiest.<\/p>\n Unsurprisingly, accommodation in Monaco comes at a hefty price so many tourists don\u2019t stay the night there. Nice is just 30 minutes from Monaco by train or car and is also home to the nearest airport.<\/p>\n According to Numbeo, a cappuccino can cost as much as four euros (\u00a33.48) in the millionaire haven, so it\u2019s best to check the menu before ordering.<\/p>\n Looking for somewhere less crowded?
