Love visiting a new city and exploring on foot? Luckily, a beautiful city destination is the perfect place to holiday this winter.
Krakow is one of Europe’s best cities to walk around, according to research from the expert team at Preply.
The southern Polish city has just 3.6 miles between its five most popular attractions and it would take just over an hour to walk between them all, according to Preply.
Known for its charming medieval buildings and Jewish Quarter, the city was once the capital of Poland.
It’s also home to one of Europe’s prettiest Market Squares, Rynek Glowny in the heart of the Old Town.

Other top attractions in Krakow include St Mary’s Basilica and Wawel Castle, which are easily reached on foot from the square.
Wawel Castle is one of Poland’s leading attractions and tourists can explore the museum and the royal Palace.
However, tourists won’t be able to walk to one of the city’s other top-rated attractions, the Wieliczka Salt Mine.
During winter, the city hosts a Christmas market in Rynek Glowny and Krakow’s medieval buildings look especially pretty under the lights.
