You can get a free Florida holiday worth £25,000 if you agree to a blind date

Brits who are looking for love – and a great holiday – can go on an incredible blind date to the sunny US state of Florida. While out there you’ll stay in a luxury villa, visit theme parks, beaches, go on a hot air balloon and enjoy dolphin spotting with your potential match.

The nine day all-expenses paid trip is sure to make an out-of-this-world first date. The pair chosen to head off on the experience – worth more than £25,000 – will be chosen by industry expert and globally accredited international matchmaker, Michelle Begy, the Managing Director and Founder of Ignite Dating, who will assess all submissions and pair the most compatible matches.

While in the United States you will stay in an Ocean Florida luxury villa as well as hotels and get up to all sorts of fun with romantic dinners to get to know each other thrown in. All food and travel will be covered so you just need to get to the airport on time.

The chosen couple will travel in style with airline Virgin Atlantic, leaving from London Heathrow Airport and flying straight to Orlando, where you’ll spend eight nights on a multi-stop holiday around the Sunshine State with your own private rooms and ensuites.

The trip will take you on a journey across Orlando, Central Florida and the gorgeous Anna Maria Island. You'll test your nerves high up on roller coasters and get to see Florida’s famous alligators while zooming down a zip wire at Gatorland USA – a totally wacky theme park and wildlife reserve.

Plus if you're ab adrenaline junkie you can reach heights of 35 feet and speeds of 68 miles per hour on the Serengeti Flyer at Busch Gardens. The theme park is often visited by British holidaymakers thanks to its dozens of rollercoasters, rides, shows and games.

You’ll also be encouraged to take it slow while admiring the scenic views of the Florida skyline during a serene hot air balloon ride with Central Florida – so we'd avoid applying if you're afraid of heights.

Plus, when you head to the coast you can go jet skiing or take a dolphin spotting cruise around Anna Maria Island where you can also see one of the most romantic sunsets on the Gulf Coast. It's the perfect place for a day out with your blind date thanks to the white sand sand bright blue sea.

The winning couple will also receive a pair of basketball tickets, where you will be seated front-row at Jernigan’s to watch Orlando Magic play on Valentine’s night. Eventually even more will be added to the itinerary for the lucky couple who may be about to find love.

But, here’s the important bit – there are some requirements for those who apply. You must be aged 25 to 60 and hold a full UK driven licence. You absolutely have to be single (don’t try and hide it for a holiday as that isn’t fair).

Entrants must be available from February 12 to 21 2024 and you have to be willing to get stuck into adrenaline-packed activities while documenting your journey with a Go-Pro provided for the trip.

In order to fly to the United States we’d also like to mention that Brits will need a valid passport – you can check the entry requirements here – and an ESTA (that’s a visa waiver with some rules such as no criminal record and no visits to certain countries since 2011). The selected couple will be notified on 17 January 2024.

Explaining why activity-focused dates are so effective when looking for love, matchmaker and founder of Ignite Dating, Michelle Begy, stated: "Everyone dreads awkward silences on a date, so it can help to have activities planned where you can really get to know somebody better. Sharing an experience gives you plenty to talk about and can help you relax because you are both doing something you enjoy.

"It can feel a lot more natural to break the ice with a shared activity rather than meeting solely face-to-face across the dinner table, politely trying to keep the conversation flowing. People tend to be themselves when they are in the moment, truly enjoying what they are doing, which can really help in getting to know somebody better and eliminate the nerves that can strike when you are dating.”
