Many Britons will be staying home this winter, possibly opting for a staycation in another part of the country.
Staycations are great for ease and affordability but not so great for sunshine. If you’re after some winter sun as we approach the colder, darker months, it might be time to start looking at flights.
Jet2holidays provided some insight into the best place to travel to this year for winter sun, telling jet setters to head to Turkey (Türkiye).
The holiday package provider said: “With fewer crowds and balmy temperatures, there’s never been a better time to experience the enchanting beauty of Turkey (Türkiye).
“Whether you want to delight in Dalaman’s stunning seascapes and bustling bazaars or embrace Antalya’s historical treasures, winter sun and cultural delights await!”

Turkey provides both culture and chill, city and sea. Jet2holidays continued: “Holidays to Turkey (Türkiye) are all about lazing on gold-sand beaches, tucking into chargrilled kebabs, sipping cocktails at swish marinas… and much more.
“Yes, there are many sides to this beautiful country, as it’s the ultimate bridge between the east and west. That means you can flip between seeing ancient wonders, experiencing mesmerising coastline and exploring chic shopping malls all in one holiday to Turkey (Türkiye).”
There are several popular holiday resorts in Turkey, namely Altinkum, Antalya, Belek, Bodrum, Dalaman, Gumbet, Icmeler, Marmaris, Side and Kusadasi.

Before you book a holiday – to Turkey or to any chosen destination – make sure you have a look at the Government’s foreign travel advice.
The Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) advises against all travel within 10km of the border with Syria, all but essential travel to Sirnak (city) and all but essential travel to Hakkari province.
If the cold, wet weather doesn’t have you running to the airport already, Jet2holidays gave just a few reasons you might want to head abroad for some winter sun this year.
When the kids are in school, holiday resorts are much quieter, which means ample opportunity to find the perfect flights and hotels.
For those who want to explore, this quieter time of year is perfect. Avoid huge queues for famous attractions and sites, as most holidaymakers will be there over the summer.
Going abroad during the winter months is also often cheaper than during the summer, so hotels are likely to be cheaper, as well as restaurants.
